DUKE ENERGY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Requirements:
The Duke Energy Scholars program was established to provide scholarships for the children of our employees and retirees.

The program provides 15 scholarships of up to $5,000 each (USD) per year and may be awarded for up to four consecutive years, with a maximum of $20,000 (USD). The scholarship is for undergraduate study at accredited, two-year technical schools or community colleges and/or four-year colleges or universities in the U.S. and Canada.

The scholarships are merit-based with consideration given to academics, personal references, community service and demonstrated financial need. In addition to the 15 annual winners of the four-year scholarships, we select five (5) alternates to receive one-time, $1,000 (USD) scholarships. If any of the 15 winners declines his/her scholarship prior to the acceptance deadline, alternates become eligible to receive a four-year scholarship.

The ACI Student Fellowship Program is available to full-time undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in an accredited college or university in the U.S. or Canada. You must be majoring in engineering, construction management, or other fields related to concrete research identified by an ACI-Member Faculty to qualify for this award. To be considered, you must be nominated by faculty members who are ACI members. The fellowship will have a nominal term of two academic years, renewed annually, and may extend through graduate study. The AAA Travel High School Challenge is available to public, private and home-schooled students in grades 9-12 throughout the United States. The challenge begins with an online test held from January 9-17. The top five scorers in each state and the District of Columbia will advance to a written exam. The top exam scorer then will be named the state champion and advance to the national contest, to be held May 13-16 at Universal Orlando in Orlando, Florida. Non-U.S. citizens enrolled in U.S. high schools are also eligible to apply. The first-place winner will receive a $2,500 check as well as a $500 check for their school or sponsor.
